In this review, we investigate the changes both inside and out and give our final thoughts on the rather controversial keyboard update. Although seemingly trivial at first glance, these two changes directly affect the user experience and can actually make the X230 feel like a different beast compared to the X220 despite their similarities. Otherwise, exterior qualities remain largely the same as last year’s model. The ThinkPad X230 updates the lineup not with brand new looks, but with the new Precision Keyboard layout and the all-important Ivy Bridge chipset under the hood.
